Welcome to Remarked Notebooks!
My name is Gianluca Ciocci (Luca for short). I have more than 20 years of experience in platform engineering and technical consulting.
Most of my time was spent building modern and secure digital platforms for various organisations including government, e-commerce, banking, and - my favourite - charities.
In this newsletter, I will be sharing my notes from the trenches of day-to-day software & platform engineering challenges. Hopefully, this will make your life a bit easier even if you are at the beginning of your engineering career.
The person who believes to know everything learns nothing." - African Proverb
Once I read this quote somewhere on the internet, I won’t pretend to know everything I am here to learn.
"You're going to want Luca from Remarked Notebooks to become your new best friend." - Anonymous 😂
Why Remarked Notebooks?
I am driven by a simple goal: to share straight-to-the-point real-world experiences in software and platform engineering, hoping to make someone's day a little easier.
I believe in:
Passing on hard-earned lessons from the trenches
Fostering a community where we all learn from each other
Celebrating the wins (and learning from the face-plants)
Sharing and discussing how we build secure and resilient modern digital platforms through automation
If the content of this publication can help just one person every day to overcome and navigate our job complexities or learn something new, I'll consider this mission accomplished.
We are here to share, learn, and grow together.

Free Content For All, No Strings Attached
I am committed to keeping all my content freely accessible.
Here's why:
Knowledge should be accessible: tech insights and experiences should be available to everyone, regardless of financial means.
Community: my primary goal is to be part of a thriving, inclusive engineering community of learners and innovators and actively contribute to it.
Uncompromised creativity: keeping content free allows me to focus on quality and relevance without the pressure of justifying a price tag.
Real-people impact: if my content helps just one person every day, that's invaluable already for me.
Selfish goal: constructive feedback and comments on my thoughts, ideas, and experiences will allow me to see things from others’ points of view making me think, revisit and continuously grow into an even better professional, thank you in advance for it!
